I left Illinois for Tennessee in 2017. Illinois is a terrible place to live in right now. Taxes are too high, politicians are too corrupt, and jobs are too scarce in Illinois. Climate change is a completely irrelevant issue in the south.

Outrageous taxes did it for me. South Dakota, no state income taxes, car plates cheaper, car insurance about 1/2 of Illinois, no FOID card.

The violence and crime is why people are leaving.

A state ruled and ruined by politicians that only represent the cities finds it's rural population leaving. Shocking.... /s

The only way its going to change is, open the jail cells and throw in the politicians!

Obviously, some of our political and business leaders have failed miserably !

I've lived in both Texas and Arizona. I was shocked at how often I heard the unmistakable Chicago accent in both places.

Illinois just raise the gas taxes again July 2021.
The state keeps raising taxes and the property taxes are through the roof.
That is not the way to get people to move to Illinois.

all we ask is please don't take your Liberal voting thought process with you when You leave for a state that doesn't tax you to death. And yes i used to be from Illinois

This is really simple. This is not rocket science. Lower taxes. Reform pensions. Lower the overall cost of living. Do that, and people will return. The lady who stated that, by the next census, people will be moving back to Illinois is living in a dream world if everything that I've mentioned doesn't happen.

Why will a warmer climate make people move to Illinois? It won't. The overload of Chicago senators and reps have made the business climate in downstate undesirable for new business to come in.

My dad lives in Illinois and I'm only a kid. He owns a business here so I don't think he’s gonna leave. Anyhow once I turn old enough I'm not gonna get taxed like this anymore.

Edit: just clarifying no Ikm not getting taxed as a child I just kinda worded it strange.

I moved to Tampa in 2013 from the southside of Chicago and I'm loving every bit of it. Move somewhere else. We have enough people moving here and it's getting crowded.

Lmfao at the end she said "people would be moving to Illinois" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

i moved in 1982, the fact that you have to have pull, know some one or get a fix just to make a living is bad, the elected officials need to be horse whipped as well.

I sold my house and left Illinois in 2005, just before the housing bubble burst... Since then, I have learned to live very lean, got out from under my debt, and put little or no faith in the job market...

Hi! Most will agree, Illinois is not a good place to live-( oh, I know, there's some who think it's wonderful )- HIGH TAXES, HIGH CRIME, HIGH COST OF LIVING, CORRUPT MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTS, AND POLITICIONS-( THEY DONT CALLIT" CROOK COUNTY" FOR NOTHING )- MANY OF US WILL LEAVE AS SOON AS WE CAN MANAGE -
