2. 3:29
3. 4:13
4. 3:47
5. 4:17
Total: 18:56.

Just loved Clover's Killer Whispers, such an elegant way to make those two variants interact. Thanks for all the puzzles!

I always love the GAS days. And I confess that I was laughing at you (sorry, yes, I was) about not seeing the way through the last puzzle. I can't really afford to laugh because I did not see my way through one of the recent GAS puzzles myself (you won't come to it for a while and you will totally nail it, I am certain). But nonetheless ... Thanks as always for all that you do for CTC, Mark. Your enjoyment of these GAS puzzles and all that is going in comes through mightily. And congratulations on the successful Kickstarter!! Hooray!

10 of 10 hats! It did get a little close on the last one, but still more than half a minute left.

New total is 945 hats (497 regular hats, 439 second hats. 9 bonus hats) and 4 dinosaurs.

Squeaky Sum Time - 00:13:40 no hats
10-lines - 00:09:05 one hat
Second Law of Thermodynamics - 00:08:40 one hat
Catch Sum Rays - broke puzzle
Killer Whispers - 00:09:13 one hat and this was the best puzzle of the lot - you clearly saved the best for last.

Puzzle 1 - 4:45 -- 2 hats
Puzzle 2 - 4:30 -- 2 hats
Puzzle 3 - 5:16 -- 2 hats
Puzzle 4 - 5:45 -- 2 hats
Puzzle 5 - 6:24 -- 2 hats

And that is another set of 10. Very fun puzzles. The combination of the whisperline and the cage was fun, and a bit hard.

5 lovely dinosaurs for me. I'm not a quick thinker, but I'm definitely a thorough one.

Every so often, one or other of the GAS setters will stretch the definition of "genuinely approachable" just a little bit, with a puzzle that requires you to make full use of everything you (should) have learned from playing GAS every day -- or just sit staring at it in frustration, until you remember *all* the rules! Clover happens to be particularly good at this, and I never fail to crack a smile when I realise what she has been doing. You can fill in the possibilities for the cages up to a point, and you can even get some way using non-repetition and whisper logic, but you still have to be careful to ensure you have taken a line of thinking as far as it will go.

It's kind of the opposite of a "Well, it's all just Sudoku from hereon in -- I don't need to use The Special Rule at all anymore" moment, and a glimpse into the realms of less-approachable puzzles from a safe distance.

My favorite of this set was the last one, Clover's Killer Whispers. Of course it took me 21 minutes, but they were good minutes.

I didn't realise how much I was relying on the conflict checker until I started solving these GAS puzzles with it turned off. I so rarely seem to make it to the end without making a careless scanning error at 'speed' that throws my solution off.

I used to tell myself that I had the conflict checker turned on only to catch fat-finger typos on the touch input panel. That's been proved wrong! I guess there's no going back now. I'll just have to get better at not making careless errors. 😂
