How to make gold with inscription without an herbalist in cataclysm part 2

This guide mainly focuses on economic ideas and principles behind how to make financial decisions when you need to buy and resell - this is NOT the stereotypical "make this item" guide which I see on youtube so very frequently. I figured I would make a video that shows people how to make their own decisions and what to factor in to influence how they make them, as opposed to saying "sell this".

As such, this guide centers around the various uses for blackfallow ink, inferno ink, fortune cards, and advent journals. I figured this would probably be more useful than the other guides on youtube... if too many people are confused or it recieves too low a rating, I will probably take it down. Hopefully It's useful and understandable.

@Cheshykid when the vid was made, the current average card price was around 45 gold and they were being sold for 15. So, you see the point of my example. Sometimes it's the market's flow and you get undercut, it happens, but sometimes people are just being dumb with their crafting. A good businessman doesn't get frustrated when people undercut them, but as you're probably well aware, the world of warcraft economy is not all that stable.

@Blind3dSnip3r Not as big as I'd like, but I would be recording in 1280x720 for youtube if for some reason it was not automatically creating two even larger black bars below and above it.

It's annoying because I have inscription 525 and mysterious fortune cards sell for only 7G!! Grr! ... At the moment though. This may go up later... I hope! Good video!

@Cheshykid mmmk, since you're being more polite at this point i will give you a response. Are you sure you watched -both- parts fully? I did mention in my video that sometimes people undercut things and it's part of a market's natural flow, and sometimes people post stuff for a price that's lower than the cost of the materials to a rather ridiculous margin. Example, X herb is 20g per stack, it requires a full stack to create Y product, and you sell Y product for 1 gold.

Good vid. This happens in JC on my server all the time.
I can be selling cut Inferno Rubys all day long for 150-200g untill some random gimp decides to list 50x for 100g each. He thinks he will get them sold quickly because they are cheap, but instead just finds himself getting undercut moments after. So now the market is fubar because of this 1 guy. I do try to buy them out and list them for normal price, but that is not always possible.
When ppl need gems for their new epic, they pay whatever!

In fact as you allude to in this guide, fortune cards are down to 15g on my server and I'm afraid they're trending downward ominously fast.

@hanninbal Hence the "without an herbalist" in the vid title.

@Cheshykid In conclusion, this guide doesn't discuss advanced economics for a reason - it wasn't made to do so. My guide was to be an introduction to the economics enough to empower people who watch both videos to make their own decisions and have a basic knowledge of what to do and look out for. an advanced guide that fully details economics, as you know, is a video too long for most people to watch or for a beginner to understand. P.S. the character in this vid is my alchy, not my bank alt =P

@chrispythegull you should have watched the whole video before posting that comment. House edge in this context was related to why you should sell cards rather than use them yourself. I (very clearly) refer to the player who sells the cards being the house, not blizzard. You would be correct if I referenced blizzard as the house, but that's not the case in this video. Regarding glyphs, I discussed glyphs briefly in part one, and made it clear why I wouldn't talk about them in this video.

@belthazor3457 Well I can see a 2 way view here. If your Looking to maximize the ammount earned then time is money. But if say your Goal is to make Lot's of money over the Course of years rather then day's then time does not equal money because you can earn what you are looking for over a long period of time. Kinda like the Penny a day thing. Point being posing items up that you farmed for 50% Lowest Bid will still get that person gold if he is not Looking to maximize his/her gold quickly.

@SourPatchExtreme the main tip on a broken server economy is to buy your herbs smart so that you can do whatever you want with most of your mats and still make a profit. better deals, better livin'! ...though If I had my way, there would be goblin casino's in orgrimmar and stormwind with texas hold em tables, roulette, and craps, and I would own the casino... I would also own the auction house, but blizzard has been mean to me and wont allow me to. =*(

@Cheshykid Anyway Some people simply are in a position where they bum money or materials off of their guildmates, craft things, mindlessly post them without paying much attention to price, and think they are making a profit.. because the wow-economy does not kill off the idiots. The idiots are given income / carries that allow them to do so. I could go on, but it'd just be me talking about the wow economy before and after dalies, and the damage of gold sellers. Ya get my point already I think.

You missed a major opportunity to discuss glyphs in this guide, though admittedly getting into glyphs is something that new scribes can't really get into right off the bat. I fact that I am profiting off of unbelievably well.

Mysterious fortune cards I feel are a market about to crash, due to the fact that people are catching on to the low probability of 'winning' at it....

@TheFlaskman "Not technically true."? If you're going to say something in my video is wrong, you need to offer an explination to WHY it is wrong. So far, you've said "I can farm it, so it's free because i spend time farming it, not gold." but you've offered no justification as to how that makes sense or WHY. If you don't offer something else to back your point up, I'm going to assume you're a troll and block you + remove your comments.

@TheElliot1997 in my realm they are 50g XD

My final comment concerns your addressing the fortune cards as 'gambling' in wow. This is untrue. The reason why is because there is no "house advantage". In fact, the house (Blizz) is a guaranteed loser. Money is added to the server economy each time a card is made and flipped. The server market dictates how much the materials and thus the cards themselves are "worth" only with respect to other players. Your profit margin is a function of the mathematical illiteracy of the server.
