Dabi, real name Toya Todoroki, is a major antagonist in the My Hero Academia manga and anime series. He is the eldest son of the Pro Hero Endeavor, driven insane due to his neglectful and selfish actions, and becoming a villain to enact revenge. He became affiliated with the League of Villains, a former member of the organization's since disbanded Vanguard Action Squad, and later one of the nine lieutenants of the Paranormal Liberation Front. Alongside his teammates, he serves as one of the main antagonists in the Forest Training Camp Arc, Pro Hero Arc, Paranormal Liberation War Arc, and Final War Arc.

Dabi is the metaphoric and literal personification of the saying “A child forsaken by the village will burn it down to feel it’s warmth”.

His body is literally a metaphor for his mental state. Not being able to cry because his tear gland is burned. Not feeling pain because of his injury. Always kinda smiling because he lost his jaw. Pure numbness .

Yeah, Touya’s life is a sad story for sure. He honestly deserved so much better.
Endeavor “made” him just to groom him into a successor, and then put little to no effort into raising him when he realized it wouldn’t work out. No kid should ever have to say “I’ll make you glad you created me.”

It's weird that his quirk is called blue flame cause he didn't get blue fires until puberty so either blue fame was a halted or it was an awakening

I feel sorry for him all he wanted was to make his dad proud but he felt forgotten once Shoto was born with the Quirks that Endeavour wanted no wonder Toya became a villain which is a shame as he could've made a great hero

I agree 100% Dabi is a tragic character and Endeavor is majorly responsible.

But Dabi / Toya isn't 100% innocent. He is a confirmed murderer and criminal. I have to wonder how much of "Dabi" came into being out of Toya's own stubbornness and unwillingness to compromise on anything. Yes it is, his power and body, but if you're not cut out for the hero life... that's just the way it is sadly.
