I was amazed when I first did a custom kernel in FreeBSD - it was so much easier than my experience in Linux doing the same thing

Wow this video brought back memories! I used to build custom FreeBSD kernels like 20 years ago. Mostly to remove drivers to stuff I didn't have in my system to make the kernel more efficient. Now I'm too lazy to do all that. LOL Great vídeo!!! Great work!!!

Hi Gary! I have a question for you. I installed custom kernel, but after "freebsd-update" my server start using old kernel "GENERIC". What am i suppose to do now?

Can you show us how we can see which kernel modules are closed source so we can exclude them very easily?
