When this came out my mom was recovering from a surgery which resulted in a stroke, she became paralyzed from the left side permanently. As a teen I would walk through fields at night screaming along to this whole album. It helped heal me, still does. There is pure emotion here, pure coddling through it's entire sound. Its going to be alright; follow the sounds and crack the sky.

I love how this song goes around full circle. It goes through 3 different segments until it reaches the one with Brent's verse, then they do Brent's again and play each segment reversed. Very clever song structure imo

Awesome to find out that Brann has a signature 'Ghost' Cymbal named after his intense use of it on this song. The man is a legend and his drumming is absolutely essential to the sound of Mastodon.

I usually listen to hip hop..rap...but this band got me listening to more than one song... i like this lol 🤨👌👌 their melodies and their singing is like a whole story, happily surprised. Troy's vocals are so underrated, but this is one of those tracks I think people finally appreciate them. He makes this song WHOLE. I cannot get enough of this album. I lose it at 1:47.

Im ashamed to admit I didnt really get into Mastodon until The Hunter, but im so glad I got to see them do this tour again a few years ago in Coney Island. Its one of my favorite albums and coming out of the show after Coheed with all the fog from the sea all over the place was super sick. The guy who cracked his head open on the boardwalk stairs after the concert that the cops just left there was pretty cool too
