With the dolphin's when the player isn't close enough the dolphin kinda goes into an idle state and freezes, but it can still drown unless you put bubble colums under it.

out of all the hardcore youtubers I've seen it's only been you that has trapped a ghast in an actual enclosure rather than it being stuck in a minecraft within a tiny box.

When you go out of render distance the mobs freeze on thier positions.
That's why your dolphin and oxoloto dies cause they freeze underwater and they need air.
Best solution is make a chunk loader.
Love the way you do this .
