I’ve been lifting for over 10 years now. And I gotta say, I love being natural. I love the hard work I put into sculpting my body. To pushing my limits naturally. The results lasts far longer than gear ever could, and no bad side effects.

I have been tempted to try gear when I fell off my training, but nah, the risks aren’t worth it.

The worst mistake we always make is making bad things trendy. Giving them cool names. Don't call it gear. Call it roids. Because its so much cooler to call it gear. And thats the problem. Because it sounds cool people move towards it because they want to be cool. In school we used to call it roids. The stigma helps to prevent people from moved towards it. Now people throw the word gear like its the norm. Its really sad.

If you take Gear and don’t look great it’s over for your mental health. At least when you’re natural your expectations can stay realistic over time

Very true. I been lifting since 14. I’m 45 now. Around 30 I wanted to see if one cycle would get me to another level. 6 weeks in I saw a huge difference and so did my family and friends. I stopped cuz I knew it wasn’t sustainable and would just make my normal body not good enough. F that muscle memory and natural lifting is far better. Be happy with what you go. Grass isn’t always greener.

That why I’m natural tbh. I like my body and I like being healthy and I don’t compare my self to any influencer in social media.

Another term for it is called "hedonic adaptation"

Anxiety about your existing gains is huge what a great point

Ive worked so hard, I’m scared to stop, every holiday, every time I’m inconsistent, the stakes are much higher mentally

I have been working out since 1976, and I am still obsessed about fitness and appearance. I never did steroids. My body looked good up through my mid-50s, but now that I am in my 60s, I am often disappointed by what has happened to my body over the last decade. Yes, it is a form of body dysmorphia because I am told I look better than most my age. Ironically, the guys who did do steroids often look horrible at my age, and they are so depressed by it. I cannot imagine how I would feel had I done gear.

100% TRUE. Every word. it’s good not to worry too much about little changes and tiny amounts of regression. Stay focused on doing your best 👍🏽

Therapy and getting out and trying new things in life has definitely made going to the gym “not that big of a deal, ” anymore. I used to always be so intense with it, but at the end of the day I stay in shape, watch my diet, compete in my sport’s competitions, and just focus on my health and longevity. Your body is going to fade no matter how hard you try and there’s nothing more sad than an old dude still trying to hang on to the same thing he used to in his younger days. How you treat people and carry yourself will always continue to grow for the better if you let it. So let that be your shine. Not your physique necessarily.

Brofessor’s words from 10 years ago still ring true: the day you start lifting is the day you become forever small, because no matter how big you get, you’ll never be as big as your pump.

Just gets worse with steroids.

I play music, I read books, I date women, I take trips, etc. Working out is great but if you can’t be happy without a “perfect look” you’re missing out on life. Life is sooo much bigger than the gym.

Most accurate reel I’ve seen on YouTube. It was never about the physical gains, it was always about mental wellbeing. The anxiety, body dysmorphia, jealousy, depression, mood swings etc. can really mess you up. Gear and roids don’t just change your physique completely, it changes EVERYTHING about you completely.

I felt better and more fulfilled after it. And I’m happy. I don’t want to get any bigger. You just need self control.

Thank you Sean, I've been lifting for a year and a half because I've always been so skinny and all summer I've been pushing harder and harder because I'm not where I wish I was - but I just listened to what you said and it really opened my eyes because if a year and a half ago I had looked in the mirror And seen the reflection I have now, I would have been over the moon! I would have been really happy - so how stupid is it that I haven't been happy with the way I look simply because I'm now used to it and I want more?! Plus you're right I am comparing myself to others instead of just enjoying the gains and using it as motivation to push on, but in a safe healthy, patient way!
I know you probably won't get to read this but I hope you do or at least that you get to read some other comments like this, I am really grateful to you, this has really opened my eyes this morning, I am really, really grateful to you and genuinely blessed by this!
Love from London, God bless!
