I bought Cloud 9 on Amazon but Material World was inside the cover, so I haven't bought it back haha. When We Was Fab, love those strings!

Great review Matthew. This album is certainly up there with George's best and came at a time when a decent album meant a return to form for him. Certainly a top 5 George album and I think Jeff Lynne really helped him rediscover his commercial sensibilities . Favourite track for me is the title track - I dont think George ever did anything quite like this in his career but plenty of other top tracks on this like This is Love, Wreck of the Hesperus, Fish on the Sand and Devil's Radio. Im trying to find a vinyl copy of Best of Dark Horse that you have on your shelf - expensive album to get hold of on vinyl . Thanks for this great review
