Chinese city builds bridge around house after owner refuses to move

A house was seen tightly wedged between two wings of a newly-built bridge in southern China’s Guangdong province. The owner of the house has declined to move, and the local government has failed to reach an agreement with her since 2010.

There is even a tunnel built specifically for her to go in and out, this is quite considerate, I thought she has to use a ladder to climb up the bridge lol

A lot of Chinese actually got rich from government compensation to move out of old house. My aunt turned 1 property into 4, even though the old property was falling apart, the government compensate based on square footage rather than the physical condition. She was very poor but now she just sit at home and collect rent. Her son is what we call 拆二代， getting more and more spoiled...
