2020 Supra - 1 Year Owner Review

I've had my mk5 Supra for exactly 12 months now, so I thought I'd do this little review of the things I like and dislike about it.

I was maybe a little harsh calling it dull so much lol I do think its a decent car, but just not really a "drivers car" like it could have been with a manual transmission (and it definitely needs the extra noise from going decat)

really enjoyed this video, been banged up for 8 months from enjoying my car a little too much and being caught by the gentlemen in blue, so as one of the first car vids i've seen in 3/4 of a year, this is great

Don't get the GT4, the gearing is abysmal. The whole thing about having a high revving engine is you want to rev it and row gears, the GT4 is geared so long that you'll basically never get out of 2nd gear when you're gunning it (unless you want to spend your entire life massively breaking the speed limit which was a problem with your M4 due to lack of sense of speed). It would be great otherwise but from everything I've read it's more at home at at track where you can actually make use of the speed in that gearing.

My fk8 type r does that rotating thing. Usually on corner entry as though the epas is over compensating. It's a little strange as its more noticeable at low lateral loading.

Its an odd quirk but as the car transitions so beautifully between over and understeer through throttle modulation (better than most rwd cars I've had) its not overly disconcerting.

Good honest review. Have u had an Alfa 4C yet? There is a guy who lives in our estate with one and the overrun sound generates a sound like a big wet fart. There has to be a way to make it sound better with a custom exhaust.

On older Z4s and beemers, the rear trailing arm bushes are quite soft, so you get that loose feeling from the back. Pretty disconcerting as it feels like it's about to let go, but doesn't. Also it seems to add slop when coming back into line. Fit RTAB limiters, or different bushes to improve it.

I don't know the prices of GT4s in the UK but here in Germany I would rather spend a little bit more and go with a 991 Carrera T as a daily.

Get a run out special of the previous gen v12 vantage. Such an underrated sports car and the auto box was crap so there are manuals about

In regards to having a manual gearbox, have you not thought about getting a hot hatch? Fast enough for British roads, can have fun under the speed limit

Chris this is very current info for me as i'm wanting to get a cayman s 981 but everyone tells me to get the pdk auto as it's much faster and changes are seamless. prefer manual too as you are in control. is auto really this boring? i've no idea what to get right now.

Hi Chris, great video! Just picked up my 20 a few days ago. When you say mapped, do you mean tuned? Its an awesome build man, would be a shame to part with it. How rare are they on the road in the UK? Have you / will you add a cold air intake to it?
