Can't believe this happened only a few months back. RIP to the poor man who died. Seeing that explosion footage is terrifying.

That blast visibly traveling through the tube slides is truly something else.

A fireman once told me (at a fire which, if not for the people opposite, I would not be writing this) - if you see smoke - it's already a SERIOUS fire.
Get out, THEN call the fire brigade.

I'm from Gothenburg and this event really shook the city. It was such a surreal feeling to see your hometown that you love just covered in thick black smoke and many people were also very excited for the opening of the water world and the dramatic nature of it all was just baffling. This is definitely the biggest disaster in the city's history since the discotheque fire of 1998 which is another terrifying event that could be made into a video

As someone living not that far from Gothenburg and who visits the park almost every year I can confirme how utterly devastating this was for everyone. Something that was very nice to see was how much Lisebergs CEO cared about the human loss. He did actually seem to care in the interviews I saw. If you ever visit Sweden I can absolutely recommend visit Liseberg. It is a very beautiful park where much effort has been put into integrating attractions to suit the natural enviorment. It also has an impressive safety record.

Considering the intensity of that blaze, it's a miracle there were so few casualties! Condolences to the family of the guy who died though.

That video of the flame shooting through the slide and then blowing out of the openings, all while also destroying parts of the slides/building due to the force is absolutely shocking.

Fibreglass and associated materials are always treated with disregard and never considered in risk assessments. I worked with the stuff for years with very little health and safety supplied chemicals in coffee jars plastic bottles no eye wash absolutely abysmal conditions I'm amazed iv lived as long as I have 😢

Update as of November 15:

The burned-out facility has been torn down to its foundations and is to be rebuilt from scratch, with a rough estimate of two years' time to completion.

As a Swede, I'm surprised, but I'm also happy to see you making a video on this.

It sounds like it would’ve been a very fun place to visit…. What an unfortunate tragedy for the community. I hope they’re on their way to healing ❤

I hate to say this, but it could have been far worse. Can you imagine if this happened if the water park was full of guests?
