don't forget the fact that silat is not just a bare-handed martial art like boxing and wrestling. In Indonesia, in the past, silat experts always carried machetes or karambits, because their effectiveness was better by combining silat martial arts with machetes or karambits or sickles. like the opinion of one of the judges at the "forged in fire" event who is also a karambit expert, according to him the karambit is the most dangerous sharp weapon because of its small size, light weight and also effective shape *if carried by a silat expert*

People commenting about UFC, MMA etc dont even know how brutal Silat is and that most of the moves are banned in the UFC lol Keyboard warriors never cease to amaze me. As a student of Silat, I can say it's the most complete Martial arts out there for street fighting and self defence. Stop comparing a professional 'sport' with every martial arts out there until you've tried it yourself. And remember! UFC fighters go through such drills when training to perfect their skills.

ramai yg mengatakan teknik silat sperti ini...mahupun apapun teknik seni bela diri ini sbg BULLSHIT.. mereka sbnrnya mungkin tidak mempelajarinya secara nyata atau hanya melihatnya dri mata masing masing.. tapi sbgai seorang pesilat..dan pernah juga mempelajari beberapa seni bela diri yg lain... aku akui ada yg teknik yg boleh digunakan dan ada juga yg tidak.. namun.. ia bukan terletak pada nama seni bela diri tersebut.. ianya terletak kepada si PENGAMALNYA..

apapun seni bela diri adalah baik dan hebat... tp jika diri sndiri tidak berlatih..tidak amalkan.. kata guru aku "ia umpama isi beras didalam sbuah uncang yg koyak"..
