I was making fake corn out of yellow foam years and years ago, then using it in conjunction with fake floating and fake sinking corn of varying sizes, and the foam I use has plenty of air bubbles which act as cavities to absorb flavour soaks, to add attraction which is good., making it critically balanced as you want, keep up your tinkering, the more stuff you do the more you learn rig mechanics, and the more fish you catch. 👌
