The trouble is getting through the advertisements. Whats a kw? I need to know the amps. If they would list list the specs and do them all the same so you could compare. I want a winch for work harvesting small logs. I want a amp x gear ratio to know how strong compared to how fast it moves.

Why not review or demonstrate a Capstan Winch?
Standard winches have some downsides for long pulls. They do not always spool properly during a recovery which may require re-spooling later, the Maximum pulling force applied lessens as the drum fills up with the winch line, and a single pull is limited to the amount of line that can be spooled onto the drum. You can pull from three hundred feet, but you can only pull what's in your drum before resetting.
The Capstan Winches that were built into the Landrovers years ago had none of these limitations. I would love to see someone honestly explain the Pros and Cons.
Obviously, a Capstan winch requires the user to pull the rope rather than just push a button or lever, but there must be more going on.

Hey Matt great video
I actually put a 12, 000lb Rydge Ryder on my BT50 couldn't justify paying big dollars for the big name brands that do the same job.
