Intentionally came back here to ask NI to please give us an updated S8. The S8 was a head of its time but now i truly believe whole heartened it can become the new club standard. If it got a face lift and the cue/hotcues were really quick like pioneers it would be unstoppable. Please consider!!!

Some bashing here. I really like NI products. As for Traktor, I really wish I had a master bus insert slot. I'd love to be able to insert a bit of compression.

It looks like a cool controller. I will stick with my Z2 for now. but it is cool that it will run time code. The clip was pretty funny tho. crowd level meter made me giggle. It looked like a T1000 from terminator with all the levels, grids and info popping up in front of the eyes - "i am a human cyborg organism sent from the future, to rock the party" (said in an arnold schwarzenegger accent)

From The Oxford English Dictionary:

 A Disc Jockey or "DJ" is a person who introduces and plays recorded music, especially on radio or at a disco. 

This definition does not change whether you use a controller or cdjs, or vinyl to play live. Therefore, the argument for or against anyone using one or the other is invalid as long as they are performing the same basic function, none of this "real DJing" malarky. 
Carl Cox uses an s8 and two cdjs, would you say he isn't a real dj? He himself states that he "know(s) how to mix two songs together very well" but he wants to further his horizons. 

I suggest you use whatever works for you, and don't criticise other people's choices if they work for them, that will make us all better DJs in the long run.
