I've seen the real version of this where the guy has actually safety glasses on but the grinder still hit with enough force to partially embed into his face through them. This is very staged but at least a good reminder to wear eye protection

You should have kept the guard on the angle grinder as well. And this video seems fake. Those shards would’ve not stopped there, in your flimsy mask. They were put there by hand.

I’ve worked with grinders for years on a daily basis and I can assure you this was 100% staged. Disks don’t break like that. Even if it did I highly doubt it would puncture that shield. He cut the shield and placed them in like that

This happens when you remove the blade guard that comes with these tools. And the screen viewer he's wearing is not suitable for that job. It is remarkable that the thickness of the plastic screen never exceeds the metal protector! that it brings to prevent. It is slim to the naked eye. It is true that for safety it is advisable to use more than 1 protection to avoid multiple injuries. But you have to admit that removing that important part is a bad idea.

That face screen wouldn't stop that big piece of disc. Start with the guard on the grinder!

And that is why you don’t modify the original safety guards on tools…….
Although I have removed it to get in closer to complete a task but kept every bit of my body possible out of the way with some other form of guarding then immediately put the guard back on

Being someone who has worked with power tools since age 11, not once has this ever happened, 9/10 I don’t have eye protection. People always talk about it but it’s never happened to me nor workers around me
