UCSB 26th VCN: A Season to Bloom

VCN stands for "Vietnamese Cultural Night": an annual, student-run production that consists of a play and various performance aspects that are woven into the show. The production tackles various aspects of Vietnamese and Vietnamese American identity and explores how we create/understand our community. Through this production, we hope to both maintain and adapt Vietnamese culture at UCSB, as well as create a tight-knit community.
This year's 26th VCN is titled Tìm Một Cách: A Season to Bloom. The synopsis is as follows:
"With borders crossing and differences blending, cultural identity is more so based on a sense of community than something that you are inherently born with. If that's the case, then what do you do when you feel like an outlier in a community you're supposed to belong in? That's the question that Alice 'Al' Le asks herself after her closest (and, truthfully, only) friend transfers to a different university before their third year. Without anyone on campus to depend on, she tuns to VSA as a potential home-away-from-home. Unfortunately for Alice, she's about to remember why she stopped attending meetings, jumpstarting her journey to find what exactly will make her bloom."
Proceeds were donated to the Rock-Paper-Scissors Children's Fund.
