The LG G4 is a device that had a lot of good, mixed with a lot of bad- namely, bootlooping, which was ridiculously widespread. Even so, I had a lot of fun looking at this device today- did any of you ever own one? How'd you like it?

Hi Josh! Your antiquated Aunt here! Hilarious that seals weren’t removed on back…my bad, not your Uncle’s. As a senior, I primarily used a mobile phone for taking photos…and I loved the ones that this one took! When I was gifted a hand me down iPhone so that my devices would connect I was almost disappointed…just always thought the LG camera was better. Thanks for reviewing…you are SO good at what you do!

It's quite a crying shame we don't have LG in the phone market anymore. they had such great innovative ideas that just didn't work out at the end unfortunately.

I loved my LG G4, had it with the leather back and it felt so premium. I never had bootloop issues with mine.

The G4 had the best camera on the market at the time

I found a LG L70 on the side of the road. I used that phone for 5 years. Had a cracked screen but worked well. Then started boot looping. Thanks for the video.

cell broadcast is its own app because it lets you view messages from past broadcasts. while on other brand phones, you get the broadcast, and once the notification is dismissed you can't see the broadcast message again.

I miss my G4 dearly. I remember when I got it. I got the grey plastic with the fake aluminum looking back because it was the only option available through AT&T.

Within a month of buying the phone, I ordered the gold outer bezel and gold buttons, and the light tan leather back directly from LG, and quickly swapped all of my parts over.

I was blown away by how LG encouraged you to modify your G4 to your liking, and they also encouraged you to keep backup batteries with you. I had an LG phone battery storage box specifically for my spare battery.

Back in 2015, this was the single coolest phone you could have. I got questions about my boujee leather phone at school all the time and didn't hesitate to show off hotswapping my batteries in class while the iPhone kids had to have portable batteries and charging cables in thier bags.

Well. Here we are a decade later. I still have my G4, but it doesn't boot, but it's sentimental to me. From a time when smart phones dared to be different, and it felt like every few months, another cool Android phone was coming out. I wish I could go back in time and relive those days.

Oh the LG G4. I was a tech for Sprint when this phone came out, received it for free from LG. I can’t tell you how many of these we replaced because of the boot loop

I used to work for Sprint back in the day.. You just had to throw the phone in the freezer for an hour and it would power up for 20-30 minutes. I made so much money on tips from saving customers pictures/ contacts. And early upgrades! Thank you LG lol😂

Ahh, the G4. I owned one. It got hot during mid-load usage and charging. Eventually it started bootlooping, and I lost all my data. Learned my lesson from that and started backing up everything.

Fortunately I've never experienced any bootloop issues. Still running a V60 on a backup line. This video brings back so many memories.
I miss LG.

I started out with a LG G2, and whilst I missed out on the G3 and G4, I did eventually upgrade to a G6 when that was the latest on offer, and its honestly still one of the greatest smartphones I've ever used.

I feel like a hole has been largely left in the market ever since LG left the phone market. Nothing to me will ever replace the experience I had with that G6. Still have it lying around, still works!

The camera of this thing was just brilliant. Very good interface, easy to use. Dang it… I miss it…

I used LG G4 for 5 straight years. I had a bootlopp issue, but LG fixed it, as it was under warranty. I loved the design that was really standing out at the time (and in today's context it would be even more bonkers). What was cool that in the box we not only got the leather back, but also a plastic one, as a replacement for more rugged-use days. It's first party window case was mad. But the thing I loved the most was the camera. It's picture quality largely came from optics, not the computational stuff (yeah, HDR was really bad on it). I looked at the old photos that I took on a trip to Australia, and honestly it's a breath of a fresh air in comparison with my current device. I'm not saying it's sharper, or has better resolution, but it has a unique look of a camera that does not try to create a fake reality but has it's one signature. It's just as looking at an analogue photo, even though it's not :)

I used to have an LG G3, G4, G7 and Q60 back in the day... I've always kept them as backup phones and still use those for fun. Thanks for putting out this video about those forgotten phones, so cool!

I had (and still have in a drawer somewhere) the LG G4 with the leather back. LG has always been my main phone brand. My two current phones are the last two LG phones (LG V60 UW5G with the dual screen and LG Wing). I honestly don't know what I'm going to do when these eventually get too slow. I'm super glad they both have Android 13. I've had the LG G2, G4, G7 and G8X. I've also had an iPhone 4 and Nexus 5, but everything else was an LG.

I had it back in university. It was beast of a phone, the screen and camera were great. I loved the curved design with the leather strap on it.

Aesthetically the G4 is my all time favourite phone and I still love it to this day. Unfortunatelly mine was one of the ones that got bricked. If they were up to date today, I'd keep them as my main phone still

Headphone jacks aren’t dead; my Moto G Stylus has a headphone jack, one of the big reasons I bought it. Aside from that, it is good to see a flagship phone from back in the days with a swappable battery. I do miss LG being a big name in smartphones. Their budget phones, like the Tribute HD, were go-tos for me back in the day. I bought a used V50 ThinQ off of eBay for videography purposes, and wow, it’s a powerhouse.
