The final conclusion sounds promising. My drop shots always sucked.
I am rather hitting big than nicely, just like you did.
But I started to just bounce the ball on my new racquets during the winter season (Germany, too cold) and start to improve a little.

step1: crush the fuz off of the ball with thundering FH's until opponent is back to the fence. step2: hit the dropper

Amazing lesson Nic !
Very complete lesson and in a very clear and simple way which is always ideal.

I think something is missing because I watched the entire video and still didn't get ATP ranking number 1.

7:50 one can see that Carlos is actually NOT using continental grip but rather an eastern grip. I saw a slow motion video where one can see this, his flip is not complete to continental but partway.

Thanks for the video! But I think Alcaraz is not changing his grip when he use a dropshot. And a lot of experts say so. What's your opinion?

Great video! I use eastern grip forehand exactly because I got used to dropshot without having to change my grip. So it's very easy to hide my move. I'm wondering if I should train my dropshot with continental grip, could you give me your advice plz? Thanks a lot!

Have you noticed when Alcaraz does his forehand drop shot, he uses something close to an Eastern forehand grip instead of Continental?

As I observe the modern forehand drop shot, the beauty of it is that the semi western grip will stay, players do not shift to continental grips

The key to Alcaraz dropshot is being able to land the drop very short, very close to the net. The average spot his drops land he will win the point 85-90% of the time. He is just able to to it constantly and that makes it so deadly.

Hi, Nick. What’s the best position on the court to anticipate opponents move returning dropshot?

You mention (0:46) 'underspin' and (0:51) 'backspin'. What's the difference?

Il it wrong to change my racket position to a cotinental grip with my other arm? I always use my right arm to lightly hold my racquet when hitting forehand (I'm lefty) so i find easier to change grip with that right arm instead doing it with one hand

When it comes to feel on the dropshot, my forehand is much better.

Watching this video makes me want to become a tennis ball. They get all the attention, and they don't even have to do anything! 🎾😅
