What Price are People Paying for the New 2024 Tacoma? Why the Price is too High!

The 4th Generation Toyota Tacoma is out and sales have been slumping. While there are a few theories about it, a prevalent theory is that it is priced way too high. I talk about what the Tacoma is costing and also the price I am seeing people paying for them. The 4th generation Tacoma price is too high, and here is what I think of it! The 2024 Tacoma price has really gone up this generation, especially compared to the 3rd generation!

Good points made. The latest/greatest still holds for 3rd gen, cool design, v6, army green, manual trans. Also, finances, $700 payments vs $1200. 24 is unaffordable for most.

In years past when we’d buy a vehicle, we’d put money into the savings account and then into CDs and whatever our vehicles would wear out we’d have the money to pay cash for its replacement.
We normally keep our vehicles for 15-20 years or 250-300K miles or until something major needed to be fixed.

I bought my first Toyota when I was 18. It was 5 years old with 70K miles. I drove it for 19 years, (it was 24 years old when it died) in 02. It got me through Grad school and my PhD and then some more. It was a 78 bare bones Corolla 2dr. It was White with Tan vinyl seats and flooring.
I replaced it with a new Camry.
I drove the Camry until my needs changed in 11 and I bought a new Rav 4WD Limited with a 3.5L V6.
I drove it until 2/29/24 when I bought a new “leftover” 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with Premium and Technology pkgs and the performance exhaust.
I plan on driving my Tacoma until I die.

Is it just me or are the roofs chopped down a few inches? I could barely get in and out of the Tacoma I test drove. I was thinking they did it to improve gas mileage.
