Holy mackerel! I'm 97 and I still feel like I'm in my 70s after listening to this song!

So I’m sitting here alone in my room, in my head, listening to the amazing sounds of Enigma and it immediately takes me back to a time that was easy, fun, exciting. A time I didn’t understand the true meaning of stress and anxiety. I once heard someone say that music is the closest thing we will ever have to a Time Machine. That is a powerful statement because it’s true. Music can immediately bring you to specific place in time and you remember exactly how you felt during that moment. Songs can unlock more than just happy memories and moments. They can bring you so a sad point such as a devastating heartbreak from an ex or an earth shattering loss of a loved one. It’s mind blowing if you truly think about it. Something you didn’t even know you had stored away somewhere in your mind was just unlocked instantaneously by a few chords. And now I sit here in my head riddled with anxiety because of what’s going on in the world and especially in the Middle East. I am an American and if you are reading this, just know that I do not hate you. I do not hate your skin color. I do not hate your religious beliefs. I do not hate. I truly believe this world is a better place than what is always being told to us. I am terrified that we the many will suffer because of the greed of a few. I have no idea what the future may hold, but just know that I think you are a beautiful human being and we are on this beautiful earth together.

Love, Brian.

Enigma is like a secret trip into a dark and wonderful space. Best listened late night with headphone. I often took the trips decades ago while smoking pot. It was surreal.

When I was the Maintenance Manager in an apartment complex I used to work at, I'd do sunday pool tunes. Sometimes classic rock, sometimes country and western. But the most requested was Enigma. I'd just losd up the cd's, 6 per cartridge, hit random play, and turn it up. 6 hours of Enigma, while enjoying the pool, lots of drinks, and friendship. On monday morning, when my manager came in, she usually had 20 or so messages on the phone talking about the quality of the music I played the previous day. In the 4 years I was there, I had a couple dozen thank yous from families who were moving out and saying how much they will miss my Sunday music day.
