Something to consider for next year - If you lay a tarp under the ground cherry plants before they drop fruit, it makes collection very easy. They will keep in their husks in cool storage for months. And if you have leftovers you don’t get to, they’ll just dry right in their husks and turn into ground cherry raisins!

I feel like I could live on potatoes and squash, I love them so much. How wonderful for your beautiful family, reaping the benefits of your labors.

"Not sickly sweet, a little bitter" Prime example of why home grown is best. We pick them at the ripeness we like.

My grandmother cooked on a wood stove and nothing else. She passed in the early 90's and I still miss sitting in the kitchen with her. She always had a pot of coffee and a pot of beans on the stove. Still sits in the kitchen but only gets used in the winter time. I feel like my dogs never not smell like skunk lol. Hey I have a Jack also lol

That wood cook stove is absolutely beautiful! Not only will it help heat but if you have a power outage you can still cook.

We lived 300 miles south of the Arctic Circle in the Northwest Territories. I had a wood cook stove and loved how my pies and bread cooked. Not to mention being able to have hot tea always ready.

Thats a nice looking stove. Never had or been around a wood cook stove before but a huge bonus to being able to cook and heat your house at the same time, well I guess until summer comes. lol :)
