How to Use the Same Raid Lockout on all of Your Characters (Faster Mount Farming)

I think some people already know about this but I wanted to make a video to make sure you guys did as well

The other thing you can do with this is invite one of your lower level characters (still high enough to enter the raid!) and get the lockout on that character, then leave the instance and just hearth them back to wherever. Why? Because then you can extend the lock on this character week on week and never have to do the boring early parts of the raid ever again. You just have that character make a group and invite the others one at a time until they have all done the instance that week. The lockout holding character never actually finishes the raid, just holds on to the lockout.

I want to confirm that this method still works. I tried today, it was a little hard to figure out for HC in the beginning. You have to make sure that your main character is saved on 25 HC. You have to kill all bosses except Valithria. Before entering, you have to set the raid to 25 Normal with your main. When you get in with your alt character, you have to convert 25 Normal to 25 HC. After that, when you kill LK, teleport to your garrison, leave the group and kill it with your main character too. That's it ! Good luck for Invincible ! :)

So essentially:

Get to the boss you want to kill on an alt
Make a premade group on that alt
Join on your char
Accept invite on alt
Back onto the char to kill, go in and kill boss
Loot (hopefully with mount), leave instance and party
Back to alt, disband group and make another
Repeat

Posting this as of 20 of july 2018 on patch 8.0.1 and at least for Ulduar 10 Normal it still works, this is what i have done : clear up to yogg only the necesary bosses, created a group under the personalized tab and tried out both auto invite on and off and worked, happy farming.

You don't have to stay in the instance, I just keep my lockout toon in shrine, so the custom group process, inv myself, clear raids, disband premise group and leave party. Next toon rinse and repeat

Been doing this for months... The video adds some steps but whatever works for you... Also know that if you are doing this for LK... It will work but you have to enter ICC on 25 NORMAL and then once inside you switch it to Heroic once you are inside... Do not attempt to enter into the zone while it is already on Heroic or it will not work... Enjoy... Oh and check out my fragrance videos... :^P

I am running ICC with this lockout and this is how I do it and it works. There is a bug which I will explain happens sometimes.

Run ICC 11/12 bosses on 25 NORMAL only. Before LK, go back to the start of the instance 'lights hammer' and start your custom group in the group finder. List it as private, auto invite on, and then log. Go onto your fresh toon, find the group and join. Go inside the instance, it will come up 11/12 do you wish to accept? Click yes, then switch to 25 hero. Sometimes you may need to wait a min or two for the option to come up to be able to switch to heroric.

When you're done leave group and run the next toon. Now, if you get a message when you go to run your next toon through 12/12 (always make sure all toons are set to normal entering instance) then don't accept, go back out of the raid, leave the group you made, log back to your toon that started the group and de-list that group, and start another. Then log back to the toon that was 12/12 when it wasn't, and join the group and it will now say 11/12 when you enter the instance.

I have been doing this for Lich king and all other raids. I asked a GM if this was okay and it is.
As long as it is on normal mode you wont be locked. I just stay in the same group and fly to ulduar then dragon soul.
To kill Lich King you have to kill Blood queen Lanathel on normal then run into LK and switch to heroic and then your raid lock out
will only be on the toon that killed him

Nice video but you can actually do the invite smoother by making the group in arena skirmish section and put auto invite on no one will join (no one even looks at skirmish groups...) the party leader will change in like less than 1 min

As of March, 9th, 2018, this still works for Uld. Clear to Yogg on mule. Make grp in custom. Click private. Click auto accept. Jump to alt. Find and join grp. Enter raid while mule is still leader and kill Yogg. Once done hop to mule again, make new grp, rinse and repeat with other alts. Will check for DS later.

And for those who do ICC step by step instruction working 100%!
1.Clear all bosses before Lich KIngon 25 Normal.Skip Healer boss.
2. Stay in ICC instance, do not get out.
3.Logon your alt get him to entrance of ICC.
4.Logon your char that cleared ICC and make a Group Finder
5.Logon your alt and send invite to Group
6.Logon on char cleard ICC and accept your alt to group
7. LOgo yoour alt and accept group invite.
8.Enter ICC with alt and acccept cooldown for bosses.
9. Leave group with your alt. Remember your alt now in ICC do not get out. You will see count down that you not in group and will be teleported. That normal stay calm.
10. Turn your alt raid difficulty to 25 heroic.( Right click on your char portrait to do that).
11. See system message with yellow color that your instance saved.
12.Get out from ICC and back get in.
13. Profit!! Go for LIch!!

Doesn't work for me. Did everything as explained: Cleared everything up to Lichking, invited my alt, but as soon as I enter the instance (ICC) with my alt, I'm standing in front of Mark'Gar again. What did I do wrong? I did EXACTLY what you did in the video.
