Pastor Robert Morris Last Sermon Before Resignation.

The pastor of a megachurch in Dallas resigned Tuesday, two days after admitting to "inappropriate sexual behavior with a young lady" 35 years ago. The "young lady" in question was 12 and the "behavior" as she described it would amount to criminal sexual abuse.

The now-former Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church was preaching to more than 100,000 active attendees and was once a spiritual adviser to former President Donald Trump. His resignation comes four days after 54-year-old Cindy Clemishire went public with allegations that Morris started molesting her when she was 12 and he was 21, telling USA TODAY on Tuesday that she was no longer afraid.

It was kissing and petting and not intercourse, but it was wrong," Morris, 62, said Sunday in a statement to local Dallas news station WFAA-TV. "This behavior happened on several occasions over the next few years ... Since that time, I have walked in purity and accountability in this area."

At first the church was standing behind Morris but announced his resignation following a wave of criticism.

I’m reminded of how many times I’ve sinned and disappointed God and how many times he’s forgiven me and still used me! I’m reminded of what God said about David that he was a man after his own heart! Offering prayer and supplication for Cindy the woman affected pray for her spiritual and mental emotional healing. Also praying for Robert Morris and his family. I know he has sinned but i also know since this time he sinned he dedicated himself to leading others to God and his ministry saved my life a number of years back when in a very very low place. I'm not gonna throw a stone. He repented years ago and from all accounts has lived pure ever since. If God restored David in the Old Testament how much more should we be ready to forgive. I'm not saying we are naive, but how can we preach that God forgives and gives second chances if we don't practice what we preach.

Everybody is ready to judge and condemn but all of you who only seek that, you should know that everyone of us stands condemned in the presence of God . The bible tells us we have all fallen short . Its only by Jesus that we are able to be in the presence of God ...
So really we all need Jesus just as much regardless of our failures ... Why not show Love ? Love covers a multitude of sin, love restores and heals .
They both need Jesus .
And we can be used in this situation to bring love and comfort.

Brother, Robert, I want you to remember one thing. We are exactly where god allows us to be at no place else. You know as well as I know, he has not abandoned us. What kind of parents Cindy had, and for this affair to happen again and again it’s weird about her.
