Rahul Jaykar (SRK) is looking for his love Aarohi (Kajol). Five years ago, she not only left the singer, but also given up her big dream of becoming a great singer herself. She was a street musician and sang one of his songs. He was so fascinated by her voice that he had spoken to her. He had seen in her talent and wanted to make her a star. During this time, he had fallen in love with her and the two became lovers. He wanted to sing with her, but the producers wanted only to make music with Aarohi first, which made her even more famous than Rahul. Months passed and nobody wanted to work with him anymore and so he started drinking and the love between him and Aarohi became more difficult. One day there was a music contest where both singers and other singers were supposed to compete. Aarohi was initially unsure, but Rahul saw in this competition a chance to make it big again. Yes, he loved her but also he loved singing and fame, even if that means that his lover became his enemy. From then on she realized that Rahul was no longer the old one. The competition went on until only Rahul and Ahrohi faced each other in the final. She went to him and announced that she is giving up on him and her success. So he won and she left. She loved him so much that she couldn't see how he broke with his obsession of being famous and successful and that she also played a role in it. In those years he always wanted to find her, but no one knows where she left until this time someone could give him informartion. He was suffering without her and it was a mistake to let her go. Also he was no longer so popular and fell into debt. He didn't want to go on living like this. Only she could help him, she could heal him. He need her and still loved her. When he found her, however, she didn't want to know anything about him and he should leave. At a celebration where she was invited, Rahul sang his new song: "Tum Hi Ho", which he wrote for her. He said that he still loved her and she also admitted that she had never forgotten him. When everyone wanted to continue celebrating, one of the creditors who wanted his money shoot at Rahul, but Aarohi stood in front of him and thus got the bullet.
