😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.

So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.

Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.

We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

You drove by San Quintin. My great aunt opened a mission there in the 70s. Orphan work, funerals, farming, digging wells, cooking, on and on. Fond memories!

Growing up in California, there have been many jokes, urban legends, rea life horror stories, & fun anecdotes about Tijuana. Glad u both are experiencing the good part of the TJ experience. lol Don't stay too long tho. 😜

The rattling sound reminds me of a car which used to belong to a friend when we were students. Our group nicknamed his car "Baby", because whenever he drove it, you heard a rattle 😆

Videoing your trip and having the van with distinct paint job etc is the reason your not getting scammed as much as a normal traveller.

Stopped the video at beginning to say what a great wise quote that was. Love that every video we now get words of wisdom. Back to the show!

Glad you still make time for date nights and disconnecting. It’s beautiful how you always focus on the good, stay positive and trust everything will be fine.
Keep putting all that positive energy out there! ❤️

I’m loving the quotes at the beginning, its so easy to put up imaginary barriers especially as you get older. Xx

I grew up in Los Angeles in the 1950s and 1960s through the early 1970s when things in Hollywood were charming, clean, friendly and good retail. Now not as much. Hope if you already have been you were not too disappointed with Hollywood itself. Also everything still brown because of the recent years of water conservation and drought when lawns were practically outlawed. We used to go to both Ensenada and Tecate frequently but never spent time in Tijuana - Grandpa was in the US Navy in San Diego and told his son to stay away and that stuck. I have only been in Japan once and that was back in 1970 in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto for a church world conference, the 1970 World's Fair and just to see Kyoto. Way different now I am certain. Anyway I believe you will like the country.

Another great video showing how people in all countries can help one another. Good luck with the logistics for your transfer to Japan.

Glad you found Ricardo through Eva! He and his mechanic friends are Wizards with Wrenches! Or in the UK, would that be Sorcerers with Spanners? 😁

Always so happy to see you guys get the help you need from kind generous people! Also love seeing you take time for yourselves. ❤️❤️😎👍xx
