nice project! 👍 good idea to repurpose a laptop charger. I suggest you enlarge the venting holes, or add another column of holes. the combined surface of the venting holes should be at least the size of the fan hole.

So I made this variable power supply with the exact same parts and did the connections the same. Everything works perfectly except the amperage doesn't really display or change when turning the potentiometer.. What did I do wrong??

Your project turned out very well, you just got the fan position wrong. It was pulling hot air out.

I think your pots are 250k ohm and 500k ohms. Not 250, 500ohms
