GATE FOLD Instructions Using Solfege/Kodály/Curwen Mini Book

Показать описание
Here I am demonstrating how to turn an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper into an 8-page foldable mini book, using my version featuring the Solfege/Curwen/Kodály hand symbols.
This is a wonderful tool for student assessment - they can each have their own books and fill in the note names.
Depending on what grade you teach, It's also great to allow students to make/fold the books themselves, engaging fundamental spatial skills.
As a band director, I'm a huge fan of using Solfege/Kodály/Curwen methods with my beginners because it makes teaching instruments in multiple keys a breeze! For example, instead of saying "C instruments play B-flat, B-flat instruments play C, E-flat instruments play G," I can easily give the band instructions using Solfege: “Band, play 'Do’." It makes it easy to improvise warm ups, even in two parts by using both hands, and is a fantastic way of getting students to watch you!
This product is aligned with the National Core Arts Standards! Specific standards met are listed within the resource.
