When you're first starting out as a knitter, you're excited, nervous and kind of happy! Knitting is fun, after all! But sometimes the nervous side takes over and you start gripping your needles and pulling at your yarn. You're nervous your stitches will fall off, so you're being extra careful.

But the problem is that your knitting is so tight you can barely get your needles into the stitches! So whaddya do?

In this video, you'll learn three ways to help you get from Tight Knitter to Relaxed Knitter.

I had given up knitting for years because everyone told me I was a tight knitter because I needed “to relax”. So glad to have found this video that showed me my biggest mistake (knitting with the needle tips 😂). After spending money on 3 knitting books and a $60 class, I found my answer in a free video. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us.

I’m not even anxious about it falling it’s just whenever I knit it gets SUPER tight. I don’t know if I’m casting on wrong or anything but nothing seems to help. This kind of did but it help with other stuff.

Thank you so much! As soon as I took into account your advice about chilling out haha and knitting with the middle of the needle, my knitting became loose immediately! I was hurting my finger because I had to push the needle so hard to get each stitch off the needle. I also took your advice from your beginner video and went and bought thick wool and it has helped so much! I have only started knitting again today after not doing it for years and your channel is now my new favourite channel! Keep up the good work!

Bigger needles are the best!! When I was starting to learn I had thin steel needles and small yarn 🤢 and had a lot of mistakes I ended up actually making a scarf after I got some thick yarn and big bamboo needles and it was so fast

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! I spent a whole day learning how to knit. I restarted my scarf 3 times because my knits were too tight and kept coming apart. I destroyed so much yarn in the process.Thank you for hitting all the noob mistakes on the spot! Im so gratefull and my hands are also. They hurt because of how tight I had to pull. I tried after wards following your suggestions and im in love with knitting. I can say if it wasnt for your video, I would have dropped knitting all together.

I’ve watched your videos to learn how to knit (casting on and such) and have been practicing. After struggling with tight stiches - I thought to myself, this can’t possible be this hard to knit. So after a quick search for “tight knitting” and a quick watch of your video and now I’m back on track! It’s so much easier now! Many thanks for all the great lessons! You make it super easy to learn!!

I used the aluminium needles with thin yarn when i first started to knit and a few swear words came out lol, but since I bought my bamboo needles and macrame wool, it’s so much easier. I am a newbie to knitting and now I am obsessed . Your tutorials are easy to follow and you explain them in a way as not to confuse newbies. so thank you for sharing your vids 😊

Thank you! The tight stitches were making it so frustrating half way through my hat. Having to push them across my needles with force. I think this will help a lot. I was using the tips of my needles because I thought it was faster. But now I see that's been my downfall!

thank you! I thought, "damn it, how does she know I'm knitting on the tippy tips of my needles?" hehe, this isn't your first rodeo, eh? Can you tell us what brand of wool/acrylic blend yarn you're using in this is video? The color and texture are lovely. many thanks.

thank you so much for this! i never really knew how to stop knitting on my needle points, but what really helped the most was seeing how you held the needle in your right hand— i was holding it the same way i held the one in my left hand. as soon as i modified my grip, it was waaaay easier to knit further down on my needles! your videos are a godsend!
