South Africa is experiencing what many farmers say is the driest season they can remember. They are having to sell their livestock, and this is having a knock-on effect on the economy.
In response to the lack of water, the government has imposed emergency measures to restrict water use and improve supply infrastructure.

Al Jazeera's Fahmida Miller reports from the Northern Cape.

She is saying that the situation is under control, and yet, farmers are selling their cattle for cheaper price.

Keeping all those cows caged up with no trees to shade them or shelter is stupid. They will require more water because of dehydration... Libya had the answer to your water problems but you didn't help.

Animal husbandry causes droughts. Using water of animals is a terrible use of water.
