One reason why I use an old-school scale: way easer to calibrate.

This seems to be a little too much of a fluctuation to be blamed on hydration, eating and such... most likely your scale is out of whack. Check the pads on its little legs and remove any crud, especially grainy kind that might be stuck in them - especially the cheaper Chinese models based on tension gauges tend to fabricate most ridiculous results if not all legs sit firmly and evenly on the ground, e.g. one sitting on a tiny pebble of gravel. If that doesn't even out the results, youmay need new scales.

I think the scales might be screwed, it shouldn't fluctuate by 10lbs each day, maybe 3 at the most for margin of error.
