Pinworms are of two types. One is male and female. Male worms remain in the intestine so they are not seen in the stool, female stools can be found by the person himself, small whitish thread like thing that is moving. That can be seen in the stools. That is one way of detecting it. Sometimes when we are examining the patient for piles, we find the worms inside. The other from of checking it is stool examination, that is microscopic examination, were they find the eggs or microscopic eggs inside and they are able to give a diagnosis, but it is the pinworm or round worm.
