You ain't lying. I was a 2000s baby born right at the beginning of the decade so I remember 2005-2009 like it was yesterday. I might have been a teenager during the 2010s, but the 2000s is my nostalgic place (and the first like two or three years into the 2010s).

I was a teen during the early 2000s.
Yeah, life was simpler, I think social networks ruined society.
In the 2000s we weren't so divided, people didn't enter echo chambers that make their life views even more distorted, movies, clubs, parties were so fun, I remember gathering my friends together to play PS2 at my house and then everyone would just grab a bike and roam the town randomly..
The food wasn't this complicated, food delivery was treated like a night out, a pizza night, it was special, it wasn't the norm.
Families actually talked to each other..

Well that's what I remember.. it's sad!

Born in 2000 here. Literally not a single day where I get flashbacks of my childhood goes by.

If I could compare today to the 2000’s this would be it:

2000’s: Route 66 before the highway.

Now: Route 66 with the highway.

(Referring to Cars (2006) movie when Sally explained what happened to Route 66 to Lightning McQueen)

I totally respect your opinion and understand your points, but I have two counters...1.) The 90's, I was born in 1984, and there were just so many things I enjoyed in the 90's, but they may have just been specific to me, like certain movies and stuff but then I loved the malls and movie theaters, arcades and theme parks, then as an adult I did get to enjoy things like casinos and certain bars...but I definitely have a wild side, and so I think I would go crazy in enjoyment, if I had gotten to experience the 70's and 60's!!!! I welcome any comments and viewpoints, but again try for your comment, and th anyone for reading mine!!

Probably because all of it was new and less explored, which left more room for creativity and innovation

Saying 2000s video games are better than 2020s video games is wild. We are just settling off the hype of Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2 needs no explanation, neither does the fact that we are months away from GTA6, the sequel to the best game in Rockstars library (Bully and GTASA are great too, just dated). You cannot convince me that games were better. Cell phones were pretty shit back then until smartphones came around. I do miss the novelty of an iPad or MP3 player, but every phone is now an MP3player, which is alot better. The argument of "your electronic tools should have less tools on them" is crazy. Movies are arguable, but I think they are even better today. At least from a technical standpoint. Graphics, CGI, and pixel count are always getting better. That's just a disadvantage the past will always have. Some argue early 2000s CGI was better, I would argue that's bologna and the examples they use for bad CGI today are usually all rushed Marvel projects. There's plenty of amazing CGI today. In terms of story telling, that's tough. They have some pretty timeless movies and I feel like movies that come out with actual hard hitting stories are far and few between today. But that might be the price of living in the future. Original ideas for compelling movies are just becoming hard to come up with.
