Marlene, you've been an outstanding resource for the Lumix G9 and I hope you'll continue with the G9 Mk2. I own the G9 and the 100-400mm lens and have followed all your AF suggestions, some from YouTuber Matt Granger and, of course, Lumix. Given a little bit of direct sunlight I find the G9 an underrated birding platform, fast enough to even allow me to photograph terns coming out of the water with minnow-size fish and I love the ergonomics. I just photographed the Blue Angels 2023 Homecoming airshow this weekend in Pensacola and pushed the camera pretty hard. Shooting a lot of 20fps bursts the camera did warm up slightly and the battery dropped a couple of bars but the results could only have improved with a high-resolution sensor and a photographer more recently practiced in covering airshows. I think the contrast AF is pretty good, maybe not Nikon Z9 or Sony A1 good, but I was shooting alongside friends with Nikon D850's and the only thing I felt I was missing, mostly, was their full-frame sensor. I didn't miss the weight of their gear. When you get your G9 Mk2 I look forward to your impressions comparing the ergonomics and, after you get the Mk2 dialed in, your hit rate for birds in flight. Thanks for all the work you do on this channel.

Hey, Marlene! You've created a wonderful legacy that will guide new users into the world of m43. The G9 is still awesome, and inexpensive. For the cost of a used G9 with 14-140mm and 100-300mm, new users have a kit they can carry anywhere for less than the cost of the G9ii or OM1 body. The G9 and your videos provide a path that will open the world of photography to new users for years to come! BRAVO!!! Take a bow, you deserve it!💯👍

One option for changing focus areas quick. I have mine set up so C1 is set up for birds in flight and C2 is set for perched birds. The customer button on the front under your ring finger is set to toggle C1 and the button under your middle finger is set to toggle C2. Focus area and FPS are set appropriately for each. Easy peasy.

I have the G9 mark ii and the firmware 2.0 update seems pretty much the same as the regular G9. Congrats on your new camera! And you know we’ll want your tips and insights. 😎

Not my G9! Oh well, I've still got your great playlist. Thanks so much for spending so much time with my favorite camera ever. Here's to hoping you like the G9II when you can get one.

Oh noh! I just know I will still go back to your G9 videos. See, this is my first camera that made income. I started with GX85 and thought I wanted a full frame so I sold it for Sony a7 ii. A day after, I realized that full frame is something any of my devices cannot handle, too high of a file even in JPEG. So, I went back to micro 4/3 and this time as a G9. You have always been my go to. Stay healthy and I’ll be looking forward for your videos.

Marlene, I've thoroughly enjoyed for G9 videos. When I needed to learn you were a great source. Thank you. My G9M2 arrived yesterday and I need you again. I'll eagerly await your new & informative video series. You will love this camera.

You and your channel was the reason that I bought a second hand G9 to go with my GH6.
The G9 was the equal of the GH6 when taking photos. In fact it was better in night time images.

End of an era indeed! Gonna be a while before I can drop the cheddar on a g9ii, but when I do, I'll be looking forward to your videos! :)
P.S. I was really hoping it would be a bit smaller too.

I order my G9mii in September. Hope to have it soon as I ordered it from Adorama. I appreciate you and all the videos you did around the G9. You taught me a lot about the camera when I was learning. Thank you, hope to see more videos around G9mii.

I have both the G9 and the OM-1. I think the OM-1 is a better camera, but the G9 is far nicer to use. It's easier to set up, you can program whatever you like to most of the dials and buttons, the OM-1 doesn't seem quite as customisable to me (and I miss the rear dial too). But that autofocus on the OM-1 just means it's got to be my main camera for birding, it's just so much better in that respect.
Anyway, thanks for all the videos. You were one of my "must watches" when I was learning the G9. I hope you get used to the OM-1 and have lots of fun with it.

Hello, Marlene!, In the meantime, thank you for teaching us about the G9 and for dedicating yourself to implementing the know-how of using it on Youtube. And we look forward to seeing some great reviews of the G9 Mark 2 in the future, and we think your channel is the most unique one as a consistent, detailed, and intuitive review about the G9 in the world. I'm always grateful for that. On behalf of the many microfourthirds-users in Korea, I would like to express my gratitude. May your health and well-being be with you for a very, very long time to come.

Thanks for your excellent videos on the G9 and Lumix lenses. I too moved to the OM-1 for bird photography recently but with an Olympus 300 f4 with a 1.4 TC and it has been an excellent experience so far. My wife has the Om-1 with the Pano 100-400 V1 and it performs well but a little soft at 800mm compared to the 300. We are keeping our two G9’s because frankly they do everything we need for travel photography. We do have our eye on the G9 II for my wife as she is the videographer in the family but she really hasn’t had the OM-1 long enough to evaluate the video capabilities.

Both you and Rob are my go-to for how to M4/3 cameras. It's always great videos from you both.
For me, longer focal length lenses are happier with their own make of cameras, especially doing high-speed shots. But as you rightly say, I'm probably adrift, not the equipment.
Hope you get your mk ii to test soon, for you it will probably be a breeze.
Thanks for all G9 videos. All great.
