"Terra - The Sustainability Pavilion" at Dubai Expo 2020 is an architectural marvel designed by Grimshaw to showcase sustainable living in a harsh desert climate. The pavilion’s design mimics the process of photosynthesis, harnessing solar energy and capturing water from the air. It offers an immersive experience, highlighting environmental issues like ocean pollution and deforestation, and aims to raise awareness about human impact on the planet.

Equipped with over 1,000 solar panels and 19 rotating "energy trees," Terra is a LEED Platinum-certified, carbon-neutral building. It uses innovative techniques to conserve energy and water, including recycling wastewater and reducing water usage by 75%. The pavilion remained as a science museum after the Expo, blending nature-inspired design with cutting-edge technology to promote sustainability.

This architecture is told in the docu-film “Terra - The Sustainability Pavilion,” presented by THE PLAN Media House.
