Solid breakdown I will say I really prefer the 10 point scale

That in between action is really smart. It does so many things. In addition to the extra thinking and removal of downtime, it can impact how you play the game based on what additional tiles and animals you have at the start, if you get 3 of one kind of animal for instance it may make you want to lean more heavily into that scoring.
