Acer Ferrari 3000LMi - You still make my heart beat fast.

Hello! I bought this high end laptop in 2004 and thought i'd share how it performs in some tests 19 years later.. probably could have waited until it was 20 years old really ;)

Irritating that Acer came out with two faster successor models LATER THE SAME YEAR, but ho-hum.. buyers remorse eh?

This notebook is very beautiful, and has good hardware, you can run many games on this Radeon 9200. Nice review. 👑

Excellent look back into the past there. On the note of steam support..

Just last friday, I built a Core 2 Quad Windows XP Professional x64 Edition computer. It's got 16GB DDR3 on the nForce 790i platform.

I have had it online and have been attempting to get steam working for the past few days now as I had it working mid to late 2021. Unfortunately, I think it's finally kaput and done for. No more Steam on Windows XP :(

On a brighter note, I've been eyeballing a similar laptop to that one under some pretty stringent criteria. Must be Pentium 3 or Pentium 3 Derived (Pentium M is acceptable) - Must have some form of dedicated graphics as well as support some sort of Dock. I've been eyeballing the lovely ThinkPad T43p.

I still have mine, long since dead though. Love the shell so refuse to trash it. I wonder if someone with a 3D printer could install the latest gen hardware inside, keeping only the outer shell. That would be awesome.

I still have my Acer laptop from 2004 with an Intel CPU and a Mobility Radeon 9700 64MB. But it’s much slower because it lacks the Ferrari branding😂
