I had one of the first model motec's. It was the size of a DVD player and had a sheet of Perspex over it to prevent tampering with the screw adjustment.

Motec really did well doing this. Also for the cost it's worth the extra bucks over oem tuning to have all the good stuff. Totally makes sense. By the time your finished the cost of say an M130 could be not far off OEM depending on what your doing.
