Buvey has some genuinely good takes when he isn't trying to troll every fanbase in football.

They need to invest in youth development. They also need serious fan bases attending the games which is the hardest part. England spent literally century’s building that.

Its hard to take someone seriously whos only followed football seriously since 2012 and all of a sudden was a mad City fan 🤨🤔🤣

Where's the ambition, Buvey? You scared the Saudi clubs might get too big...

People forget, these football player are employees. They don’t care about the club, only to look after their families.

The Saudi League is the most watched league in Asia and North Africa in recent years, this is only the beginning 💪🏼🇸🇦

When a league has unlimited funds, it could very quickly climb the league rankings over the coming decade or two.

Europe's domination of football is going to come to an end over the coming century. I genuinely think in 100 years middle eastern leagues could be where the Premier League is now, but that will take time and they'll need to be patient while domestic players develop over several generations. That was the mistake China made, they weren't prepared to take their time with things. They spent like they had unlimited funds, the big difference is when Saudi Arabia checks its bank balance it just shows ♾

I remember fans claiming Citeh would never be a serious club & won't break into the top 4, look where you twats are now. 🤷🏻‍♂️😅

Every big player apart from Messi has chosen the Saudi league over all the other “joke leagues”. It seems they are already ahead of the MLS. So what Buvey is saying has already been accomplished in about 2 years of them trying. The next 5 years will see them become a top 7/8 league in the world for sure

As a neutral with no affiliation to Saudi Pro League, this is English arrogance at it's finest. Asian football and especially SPL was already ahead of MLS based on International clup tournaments and like it or not, will be a top league in the world sooner rather than later. Also fyi: the world doesn't revolve around Europe. Especially nowadays, deal with it!

the first main reason of the saudi project isn't really football, if it works good if no not a big deal.

italy is second to the prem. almost all the greats played in italy at some point. genuinely competitive, loads of historic big clubs. not a monopoly like germany or duopoly like spain

I reckon in 10yrs the prem will be the Saudi championship they have no cap on there spending they can make it as an NBA or NFL like

I’m of the opinion that they’ll never become a top league despite the money. They’re fooling themselves into thinking these old stars are joining because they’re interested in the project while in reality, they’re only there for one final major paycheck before they retire. Nobody else would offer them those wages even if they could.

Signing borderline retirees doesn’t automatically make your sporting product good, and if it’s not good, people won’t watch. Simple.
