They were way ahead of their generation, they deserve so much recognition sadly few saw that potential

Sorry they're talking about their song being too sexy, but let's not forget how the industry sexualised Hyuna when she was 14.

Obviously Zico is gonna sign the BlockB members to his company after all of their military services. The timing is exactly right. He's gonna build up his company now and when they're all discharged their contract with 7seasons is gonna end.

The 7 dollar comment was just them making fun of the fact that they were broke af and didnt make any money. But it was very misunderstood

There are so many info you left behind on block b:
- they were literally banned from doing promo, doing music, appearing on korean channels, a lot of celebrities cancelled them for the taiwan scandal.
- Pyo was recovered with anxiety and other health problem due to over stressing since there were a petiotion for block b to kill themselves.
- beside ceo running away with money block b financially supported all their comeback themselves, parents helping with outfits food and everything.
- 7s was specifically created for block b only.

I went to see Block B in Helsinki, in '15, with my cancer-sick little sister. She was invited to sit on the stage during the track Romantically, and she was in tears of joy. After the concert, during a photo-with-fans session, my sister and I got a picture of just the two of us, with the boys.. My sister passed away a year later, and that moment will always be special to me.. I haven't travelled to see a kpop concert since, thbough

The problem with the Thailand controversy was mainly the translation, Zico didn't want it to sound funny... he was honest but the translation made it seem like he was making fun of that. A pity... but I am glad they moved on from that.

A lot of 3rd generation boy groups were heavily influenced by BlockB. Including early eras of BTS. War of Hormone? C’mon. They deserve the recognition.

One thing you forgot to mention is Zico's predebut career. He was already well known in the underground as a talented hip hop artist, and his career in the underground grew simultaneously with Block B's. He's has a predebut album too. Park kyung is the same, and also heads a successful solo career. PO also had a history as an underground rapper, that also released a single hip hop album that featured Mino from his Huge Boi days.

The Thailand incident .... bb’s company at the time did not pay them appropriately so Zico wasn’t lying when he said he only had $6... hoping for a reunion again ... their brother group ateez is doing very well internationally and I wanted those interactions but have yet to see any

I love Block B, they're my bias group and probably always will be. The nickname for BBC btw is bees which is infinitely cuter imo.
I love your term "anti boy group". They so are. Their whole marketing scheme for like 5 years was to use their dirty "unsellable" image to well... sell themselves and it frakking worked. I also love that they're basically a parody group. Their middle four biggest hits are all parodic, and poke fun at the industry.

NILLILI MAMBO- Parodies Pirates of the Caribbean and One Piece, and the sped up dialogue at the end is a pasta recipe. The story line is also set up so that you think they're these gangsters, but then it turns out to be more comedy than anything else; the chicken, the missing diamond etc. They fail at being gangster basically.

VERY GOOD- Obviously parodies the Dark Knight, but there are also visual references to Marilyn Manson and Big Bang (and I like to think Death Note, since these dudes are huge anime fans), but if you listen to the music again, it kinda feels like a parody of rock music, like a rock song that isn't quite right, and also a parody of themselves- people judging their "image" so much they kinda just went all out with the crazy. The lyrics also call out the industry.

JACKPOT- Is clearly a parody of the industry itself, both lyrically and visually: The girl spins around on a knife target board whilst the lyrics sing about how gaining success is like hitting the Jackpot. She goes through a makeover scene where she is given outfits like that of a pin up doll, able to choose whoever and whatever she wants to be, again over lyrics that talk about how what’s the point in success if it’s just luck and a gamble anyway. Then there’s a scene of all of them partying, dancing, celebrating this gambled and fake success. And then after the music ends, the girl walks away, dressed to the nines, success gained, and as she walks away she appears pull the middle finger at the clowns behind her who helped her get there… (apparently she didn't actually flip the birdy which just makes the video even funnier). Oh and to keep up the anime references, PO’s styling is a definitely straight out of Tokyo Ghoul.
The whole thing is very symbolic and tongue in cheek.
(also musically is a masterpiece, with 4 or 5 changes of percussion from shuffle to straight and back again but that's another story)

HER- a lot of people go "oh Block B is cute now", without watching the music video properly. First of all, their make up is over done, and the colours over saturated. Secondly there is CF washing liquid parody and then Zico raps with an ostrich. And then there's that mid MV talk show... where in Zico explains their "new" cute image by going "Zico Zico Ni!" which is referencing the anime (yes again) Love Live. But here's the thing, the scene Zico references, is when Nico, a character in the anime, acts uncharacteristically cute to make an impression of a "proper school idol" to the rest of the anime cast by going "Nico Nico Ni!". The entire scene parodies the KAWAII concept used by idols to sell themselves, the fake cute concept that people put on... Thus making the HER MV meta within meta within meta.
This MV is a parody of cute concepts, and of Kpop concepts in general.

YESTERDAY is a Friends Parody and you can't convince me otherwise. The teaser said it all! Also how much to I love that they came back with an non promoted single after Toy and it was the fourth biggest digital hit of all 2017? Like wtf who does that. Oh wait, Block B.

Anyway,
Thank you for this well informed video! So many people are ill informed about Block B, especially since Zico left 7S (Block B is still 7 people!), it's nice to see you spitting facts lol.
(p.s they also had a huge presence in Japan in 2016 and 2017 with My Zone and the Block B-1 project and B-Bomb went solo digitally this year <3
p.p.s their b-tracks are just as strong as their titles and everyone should go check out Sync 100%)
