Omg that whole "liking a book but loving it a from a specific moment on" is what i'm experiencing rn with my current book. Tbh i've been thinking of revisiting this book (last time i read it, it was for school, and we all know how well that goes...) but now this review truly solidified my decision. I think you might have talked me into reading this. My favourite way to learn history is by novels. I loved East of Eden so much that I’ve put off reading this one because it sounded grim. Thanks as always for an excellent review. Deb

I had a similar reaction o the intercalary chapters, but from the very beginning. It was a brilliant decision my Steinbeck.
