Finding and scrapping everything increases your engineering level a lot. It’s beneficial for clothes without any modifiers because once scrapped they will appear in your wardrobe.

I must say the change of clothes being mostly only for appearance's sake (there are some clothes that give some minor bonuses like +armor or +reload speed) and the cyber enhancements being the ones that, by filling the body with chrome, make you harder to kill is so good.

Definitely a major improvement after adding the transmog addition.

I really like the new armor system and think it makes much more sense than before. Clothes are just cloth usually unless it's a vest or something with ballistic weave or plates but those still add armor bonuses now! I think replacing your bones and limbs with animatronic metal replacements makes more sense to add armor to your body than a simple T-shirt or jeans.

with 10 or 11 tech, you can manually disable each camera, which boosts the tech skill pretty quickly. when I finish clearing out location, I run back through and disable all the cams by jumping up next to them and activating them. Another way is using tech weapons and crafting items. crafting is super quick too.

there is a huge minefield covering the entire east/north east of the map in the badland, deactivating them give engineering exp, there is so many that you will get quite a few lvl just with that and you can do it right at the start of the game.

A big mistake i made was scrapping iconic weapons, pre 2.0 you used to get blueprints for all of the iconic weapons you pick up, after 2.0 you no longer do, if you scrap an iconic weapon its gone for good.

1 thing I would definitely add is ALWAYS check loot drops cause rarely you will find shards that permanently increase your cyberware capacity so you can equip better cyberware too over time. With it combined with the skill perk that makes it possible to go past the capacity by sacrificing max HP, you can really upgrade yourself.

Hey Choom! If you dont know yet, you can Increase the level
of engenering by using granades, and consumables, crafting itmes, turning off cameras by walkin up to them and if you kill your enemies witch charged shots from tech weapons, that goes to there as well. Maybe I missed something, but I hope its mostly helpful.

I’m so glad they removed the crafting aspect from behind the Tech skill. I hated that you had to spec into Tech if you wanted to upgrade your weapons in previous patches. Now you can upgrade to legendary (tier 5) without having to drop a single point into the Tech skill tree

The fact that clothes are just clothes now is, imo, one of the best decisions they made. Can't really speak about others, but in my experience with Cyberpunk clothing if I wanted to look good and presentable my AR was that of a tissue paper, with only remedy of finding high tier armadillo, providing that clothes have slots for it.

Nomad baby! Nomad life path is like Mad Max had a Robocop baby with Bladerunner.

I did the "Dancing on a Minefield Gig" out in the badlands and using tech skill to disarm all the landmines around the area got me somewhere around 20-23 levels in engineer, you will be there a while 😅 but it's worth the easy xp

I love the nomad origin. Since this was my first step into the cyberpunk setting I felt like an outsider and v showing up to the city as a newbie outsider jived with me alot. Also the nomad car is pretty nice and feels better than most the other free vehicles you can grab early!

Actually, the first mistake on your list isn't necessarily a mistake. You can go full Mitigation instead of Armor now. You can get 90% Mit Strength and close to 100% Mit Chance all the time and if you have that, you absolutely don't need any armor. But you have to know you're going this route and plan for it.

Nomad for life, and I think it's definitely the best opener to the game after trying them all, starting outside the city, then entering the city for the first time is amazing. It also has the best starting interaction with Jackie, and I love the interaction with the sheriff, he's pretty intimidating, plus being stopped at the border is really tense.

Also never forget the one most important thing, never ever forget to routinely sleep.
Sleeping routinely to keep the EXP bonus buff helps leveling and getting yourself stronger faster

I sold my soul for the Corpo dialogue choices. As a female V, I find the ice-cold bizatch vibe exhilarating😂
Also, I spec’d into Reflexes and found myself getting Shinobi experience from dashing climbing and jumping around, so it’s not just about Blades.

Not sure if it was in there and I missed it, but to any new players, weapon mods are permanent installs. You can't remove them or replace them. So either choose wisely or keep a couple duplicates of your favorite non-iconic weapons as you find them in case you want to try a different mod setup.

Engineering is directly linked to crafting, disassembling etc. Crafting itself is not restricted by perks now either. So with tier X components being so vital to upgrade your cyberware or weapons, it is great to get in the habit of disassembling weapons you wont use, use those components to create the next level components, upgrade and repeat. It makes it very easy that way to upgrade everything.
