ASUS G14s - Buying NEW after 3 years with OLD?

My "regular consumer" experience with Asus ROG Zephyrus G14s.

I've been using the 2022 model for almost 3 years, while keeping a close eye on newer versions, especially from 2024 and 2025. Along the way, I've discovered quite a few concerning details that potential buyers might want to take into account when purchasing an ASUS laptop, especially one from the ROG Zephyrus gaming series like G14 and G16.

Well I wanted to buy a 2022 g14 so badly for the last two years but last year I found an x13 for a downright cheap price and pulled the trigger. I think I should be happy considering the problems you've been facing because I've only had shutdowns when the laptop was on a surface that suffocated the fan intakes while gaming. After messing with the fan curves and the max cpu & gpu temps on ghelper, the only shutdown I had was a blue screen after opening 250+ photoshop windows by accident, using 56gb of ram on a system with just 16 :D (It continued to work for a few minutes and was surprisingly smooth still)

On 2022 I needed a laptop for 3d modeling and rendering, I already own a MacBook Pro m1 13 inch, g14 was perfect! Small and light, build quality was great! But the only thing I did not go for g14 is thermal throttling… got my self strix g15! It’s great till now.!!! But I kinda want g14 if they fix the thermals.

Asus needs to improve their support system.

I bought the latest Asus Zenfone and after working fine for a few weeks, calling stopped working entirely. The phone is only usable on wifi. Seems like they don't pay attention to quality as much as you'd expect them to.

Bought an xflow13 in 2021 with an egpu. Had the same experience to this day! The laptop still works and still turns off. Random shutoffs. All the other issues happen to me as well!! Never buying Asus again. Apple is the way.
