Today we're in Charlotte, North Carolina doing battle with one of the world's most famous eating challenges...

We're at Benny's Pizzeria, taking on their 28 inch pizza challenge...the rules for which are as follows: If you're brave enough, you can order up one of their 28" cheese pizzas for $35 and if you get it all down inside 28 minutes, not only is the pizza ON THE HOUSE but you get a winner's t-shirt and a cash prize too!

The cash prize is $280 for 'average joes' or $100 for 'professionals'. How they determine the difference, I'm not sure, but either way it's a generous prize package...no wonder only 7 people have ever managed to beat it!

I like how beard always incredulously asks about the challenge. “You’ve got..uh…like..a pizza…challenge?”

I’m a big guy so I’d think nothing of eating a 16” pizza by myself, so I thought “How hard could a 28” be? I then did the maths. If we use the formula (pi x radius) squared, we can surmise that there are 631 sq inches in one 16” pizza. Using the same formula, there are 1933 sq inches of pizza in a 28”. Which is a colossal difference.
