Climate change is not something bad that might happen, it’s something bad that’s happening.
Global average temperatures have risen about 1.3˚C from pre-industrial levels and California and Australia are already burning. Bottom line: We all need to work together now to reach that 1.5˚C goal because going above puts millions more at risk of potentially life-threatening heatwaves and poverty.

BRUCE LEE ONCE  SAID

"INSTEAD OF BUYING YOUR CHILDREN ALL THE THINGS YOU NEVER HAD, YOU SHOULD TEACH THEM ALL THE THINGS YOU WERE NEVER TAUGHT.

MATERIAL WEARS OUT BUT KNOWLEDGE STAYS."😎

Have a good day ahead🤗

Literally talking about this in my international relations class! It's interesting how people put so much emphasis on saving the Earth but it's the Earth and ourselves. This is super intertwined in every single aspect of our lives no matter who you are. So tired of talking about change, lets be the change, we need to seriously come together as a society and demand our leaders to take action! I really enjoy these little animations - a little simple but gets the message across well.

P.S. Let us thank Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) for making it 2% to 1.5% because yes it is that significant, this threshold is key to our survival.

I feel like the palm tree.. with crazy off-kilter eyes (the coconuts).

the planet dies, we die
we die, the planet lives

What many people ignore is the fact that the planet is supposed to cool down in prep for the natural ice age... We shouldn't be increasing in temperature at all... And infact, the increase in temperature puts more at risk than just extremely hot summers... The main risk with global warming is the change in our planetial environment... When volcanos for example increase in temperature they are more likely to burst, the gas inside expands and the rocks let more air inside causing even more reactive lava... The deadly clouds of ashes grow bigger with every 0, 1°C and the biggest danger, the Yellowstone Volcano could put our planet in a 10 year span in which no summer would happen, the clouds would stay in the atmosphere for that long, ruining our fields and covering all cities in black... Instead of just masks during a Pandemic we would have to wear masks outside due to the heavy air pollution it would cause... And lets not ignore the impact on the oceans, so many animals and people would die... Just because you are over 50 years old doesn't mean the climate change doesn't affect you... If we don't act now, the planet will change to the worse... And volcanos are just the tip of the iceberg... Natural disaster gets more violent by the day... The average scale for tsunamis is increasing, heavy storms are more frequent and the sea level is rising...
The worst you as a person can do is just ignore this... You might not see this as a threat, but you will when you are directly affected by it...
The funniest thing is people think that 1.5°C is the overall value... But thats the average temperature... In summer it could get 3-7°C warmer in hot regions which would be lethal for most living things in those areas... think about it, do you want to leave your future generations with a planet that is not fully inhabitable?

Now do entropy, Milankovitch cycles, orbital precession, the difference between high altitude and low altitude CO2, and why seasons occur because of a 23.5 degree axis tilt .

Examples of India is taken on many platforms shows that it has huge significance to climate change due to it's population

There is no significance to 1.5 degC. Its an arbitrarily small number thought to be sufficiently small that runaway effects are thought to be unlikely.

Time for the sequel: why is 2C such a big deal?
18 month average is above 1.5C In June 2024 ( copernicus data with 1860-1900 baseline ). Pakistan and mexico recording days above 50C, India 49.9C. Radiative forcings suggest there is more on the way. May dip down in 2025/2026 with la nina, but will likely ratchet up more soon enough. Heading for 2C around 2040.

You're aware that the past 15, 000 years of temperate weather was merely an inter-glacial period in between two 100, 000 year long deep freeze glacial periods in Earth's ongoing 3 million year long Ice Age... right? And that Earth is really an 'ice planet'... and the shift between an inter-glacial and glacial phase (occurring 23 times within this current Ice Age), brings dramatic changes in weather and climate? Prior to the past 15, 000 years of human history, no one was around to complain about it, but that doesn't mean its not real.
