Not only did he show off his picks but he broke them all down with how they all connect back to him. Seriously amazing.

Never seen a Danny Elfman interview before. He sorta seems like the timid, awkward music kid in high school who grew up to be a legendary, badass musician but never forgot his roots. His mannerisms/expressions have a nourishing, authentically humble vibe. Also 10/10 bag collection. What a treat this was to watch.

This is possibly the best What’s in my Bag ever done. His passion is so palpable and contagious. Hats off to the video editing too. Brilliant job.

His voice has such reverb, it's unbelievable. It's like he's a professional VO actor. Such a beautiful voice! Visually, he looks like the typical crazy old lady. Thank you for your art, Mr. Elfman!

I always love how Danny has a slight splash of that mad hatter vibe mixed with one of the most brilliant musical geniuses of our century...not to mention one hell of a singing voice...

I want an extended version of this where he DOES talk about the other "99 albums." He oozes talent, but in a very humble way. I wish I took my high school musicianship as seriously as he did.

Danny Elfman is the mad scientist of music.
His music is like a weird blend of this and that and the green stuff that makes his music so unique and fun. I definitely count Oingo Boingo as one of my favorite bands.

Danny Elfman is a national treasure. He's so down to earth, not at all pretentious.

I wish this man can compose music for all of time, his genius cannot be replaced nor replicated

He's SEVENTY freaking years old! I simply cannot believe it - he still has such a sense of passion, vigor and freshness...he's fairly jacked, too! Would that we all have such special sauce at that age.

I have loved this man since the 80's/Oingo Boingo days and he's still turning out great projects. So glad to have his talent in my life and in the world at large

First time hearing Danny Elfman speak. What a treat, hearing him describe all the albums. Surprised at how softspoken he was. If you ever read this Danny : thanks for all the years of great music scores.

You can really hear his influences in his music. Oingo Boingo changed my musical life in the 80's.

In my opinion Danny Elfman has had as much of an impact on music and movie pop culture as John Williams...his scores are engrained in the collective subconscious of humanity in much the same way. In that regard I consider him very underrated because you don't really see him in lists of greatest movie composers which is a profound shame, he should be right up there amongst the top 5 and maybe even 1 or 2. Simpsons and Batman themes alone should put him on the Mount Rushmore of pop culture music icons

Danny Elfman always amazes me with how refreshingly articulate he is. He’s got a magical way of speaking, and he weaves such wonderment through his stories. I could listen to him talk forever. His unassuming nature is seriously adorable.

His sound track for Pee-Wee's Big Adventure has always been one of my favorite sound tracks of all time. It's so innocent but dark at the same time. As his first official movie score, everytime I hear it, I'm transported back to the 80s as a kid watching the movie. Such a truly talented man that has touched the lives of so many people with his gift of music

Great to see his love for XTC. Incredible, underrated band and I love how he described them as “nervous”

Wow. That was probably the best "What's In My Bag?" yet. It wasn't just "here's a bunch of stuff I like" and instead it was: "here's a chronology of the music that shaped my art and WHY."

Danny is such a legend. You can tell this is the guy you always wanted to catch working at the record store, you know the one; the one who always had good taste, and could give you a history lesson as well, and make you feel something at the same time.

LOVED it! Love Danny Elfman, iconic .... not enough people realize his impact because he is NOT a public person. I loved watching this and having him describe all the influences in his life. I truly love a trip to a wellstocked "record store". I know it's not posh anymore to call it a record store, but children of the 80s whoes parents were children of the 60s lived in the import stores . My favorites were in NYC Brooklyn and NJ
