Damn, “when I first met you, I knew you had the Holy Spirit in you” that reminds me of the time that I first met my Buddy Josh’s Mom who I never met in my life and the first thing she said to me “You’re a believer aren’t you?” And I said “Yes, I’m a believer, how’d you know, you just met me and said nothing about my faith” and she said to me “It’s the Spirit in a person that recognizes the Spirit in a person” immediately I was reminded of the scripture “the Spirit of God testifies to our Spirits that we are children of God” boy was I taken back by that cause I also learned that the Spirit of God through another believer testifies to our Spirit that someone is also a believer. Period! I’m always always ALWAYS being complimented on my calm demeanor/the peace I bring into the room at work. I legit feel that it’s the Holy spirit and not me. Bc I seriously have such a traumatic upbringing/things I could’ve had a downward spiral over… but I truly believe it’s Jesus who has sustained me. Of course I have bad days/ugly moments. I’m human. But I really have a calmness from knowing this life is TEMPORARY and He’s coming back for me soon. :)

Hey if you're a Christian, something that might help is saying "I'm only saved and kept saved because of Jesus's blood, not my intentions to obey, not my performance or ability to love when it comes to a post salvation to continue being sanctified." If you trust that and remind yourself of that, that fire won't disappear the way it does for the religious (orthodox, catholic, protestant.) Not that it feels the same constantly, but we should always be moved to love because of His love for us. It's not about have to's. Commandments are direction for fulfillment and a revelation of God's loving character.

Another thing is, when you trust in Christ the old has passed away and we are new. We no longer identify as addicts or sinners. As Paul says "it is not I who who do wrong but sin in me." Paul identifies with the Spirit, new heart and sets His mind on the things of God. We are free from being slaves to sin, the rest is just our mind catching up with His direction. God bless.
