I remember the first time I saw a temple, I believed in a ton of superstition about the land indicating things beneath, so I dug straight down the blue (wool at this time) expecting there to potentially be diamonds like 100 blocks underneath it or something. What a fun time

Sometimes mobs spawn in a cave near the pyramid, and the cave cutter algorithm cuts right through side of the pyramid's underground structure but doesn't take the floor out underneath the TNT. The hole only has to be large enough for a mob to wander through and if it hits the pressure plate *KABOOM!*

Something extremely similar to this happened to me I was basically rafing a desert temple as usual with my parrot and yes I was looting the chest the parrot landed right on top of the pressure plate

This is why the pressure plate was always the first thing to go when I came across a pyramid.

One time, I went into a temple to find that the TNT had somehow already exploded, so there was just a crater with nothing in it.

The only issue with the desert temple is that it’s dark enough for mobs to spawn when you go near the temple, the mob can step on the pressure plate and blow it up before you even enter the temple, I came back to a desert temple I found earlier to see it already blown up before I even looted it, they can just solve it by adding a natural light source to the structure, doesn’t seem that hard to me maybe roll it in 1.19? Idk that aside the loot is a 3% chance for god apple rolled 4 times so it’s worth your time

First time I found a temple I was so fascinated, happened to dig down to to do some mining, fell down and was like: "Wow, hidden treasure!". Then I unexpectedly exploded, losing my 50 or so diamonds (a big deal at the time!) and all my enchanted stuff. Instaquit and didn't play the game again for months.

Theres a different way to loot it speedrunners do
Basically you light the tnt but you go down so you dont take a ton of damage from the explosion

Ahh yes... my best fail scene with a desert temple: I dug down, and there was a cave just down where I was mining on the wall. Immediately behind it was a skelly who quickly shot me into the treasure chamber... and then it jumped in after me, landing right on the pressure plate. Boom >_<;;;

Actually a speedrunner wouldn't break the pressure plate but the block itself
