From home décor to medical prosthetics, robotic parts to aircraft interiors, 3D printing is the future of manufacturing. APWorks, a 100% subsidiary of Airbus Group, has worked at the forefront of additive layer manufacturing (ALM) and advanced materials since its launch in 2013., APWorks produces bionically optimized metal parts for a wide range of industries, from aerospace to automotive and robotics. Its newest creation? The world’s first 3D-printed motorcycle, made using APWorks’ Scalmalloy® material, weighing in at a svelte 35 kg.

It's really amazing, dreamy light weight, cool super futuristic sense of technology

Why do I see welded sections? Did you build this in 3D pieces and then weld the pieces together?

What kind of laser to you use to sinter the metal dust? Is it an electron laser or a co2 laser, etc? And how much power does the laser itself require?

How much does the frame weight?Just the frame, no suspension. Also how much weight did you manage to save vs a conventional frame?

Like a bike yes, like a motorcycle no... And that price is Astronomic.... lol

Was this frame made in sections and then welded together by hand afterwards?Pretty neat!

How much is actually 3D printed? Is it just the frame?

Super Design.
Kann man die STL Datei irgendwo bekommen? Würde gern ein Model davon mit meinem FDM Drucker versuchen zu drucken.

Why did you use an ancient cantilever swingarm design? I just don't get it!

that's a dream vehicle, 6kw is kind of too much for 80 kmph however.

The problem was the 3D printer to reduce the cost of manufactured products. $ 50, 000 ?? What for?? Normal bike is cheaper. Spare parts for it are cheaper. What will happen if you break this? Print a new building?

Just to ruin my eyes and giving headache to who is watching this confused presentation of this 3D printed object!! This is the result of this video!

I'm surprised they didn't call it KITT...

If all frame is 3D printed why we can see welded joints on frame ???? Or they first printed parts of frame and then weld all Don't understand Too expensive

"Let's make affordable motorcycle made with strong and cheap non-proprietary material using latest advanced technologies in 3d printing and let's make it in large quantities" - said no corporation ever.
This freaking bike is more expensive than a bloody Tesla model 3... $50K. Are you nuts?!

$56, 000 US Dollars And you can own your own Scamalloy!

lol printed frame will break, if metal was only melted and not properly forged it's like glass, one fall and you will collect pieces, if it's forged, then you can't say that it's 3d-printed

This video could have been 60 seconds shorter.

Odd shape(s) it looks to have been 3d printed in sections and then welded to make the final assembly. Why the faux gas tank hump is beyond me, trying to invoke the conventional motorcycle profile while using a most unconventional methodology with e-power. I endorse the additive manufacturing process but not too much else. The electric motor is silly, the brakes look to be modern bicycle brakes. The e-motor is listed as 17# but how much does the battery weigh, and what is the charge ra50gary
nge? The tires chosen are most definitely vintage inspired, but it was designed by a company named AirBus. I would not have released a price as no one would really buy one for use, perhaps a PC movie star to make a statement, any $1500.00 moped would likely give better service. Just build it and call it a design exercise, to put a price on it only invites comparison.
